Hospital Bag Was Always a Blank Concept to Me

I wonder if anyone else is like me — a confused and slightly lazy mom-to-be. I read through hospital bag checklists online, but my mind was still completely blank. Otherwise, I would just follow the list and buy things randomly without really knowing what each item was for or how many to prepare. Just when my mind was still blank, GENNIE’S Maternity & Nursing came to my rescue!

Absolute must-haves for a hospital bag checklist include:

• Disposable cotton panties (I started wearing them from mid to late pregnancy)
• Disposable nursing pads (to help prevent breast milk from leaking and wetting clothes)
• Postpartum maternity pads (Are maternity pads basically sanitary pads? Pretty much! But the size and design are different. Since there may be wounds after natural birth, maternity pads are extra large, usually with less of a fitted design and no wings.)
• Disposable underpads (placed on the bed to help prevent stains from amniotic fluid or bloody show, and also needed after delivery for wound care)
• Cleansing cotton pads (for wiping and cleaning the breasts, baby’s face, and more)
• Postpartum binder (suitable for postpartum abdominal support within 6 months after birth, helps support the waist and abdomen after natural birth, and helps stabilize the wound area after C-section to reduce pulling from large movements)

 Other thoughtful reminders — must bring: wallet + mom handbook + both parents’ health insurance cards and ID cards. Once the hospital bag is ready, just put it directly in your husband’s car! Baby girl, your mom, dad, and big brother are all ready and waiting for you!
